Ethics Applications at Scots
The Scots College is committed to the highest relevant standards of integrity in conducting research. Research integrity and ethical research are not simply matters of compliance. The research enterprise is a deeply embedded in the trust relationship which forms and informs the School's community. Research shall be undertaken at Scots in a context which promotes trust among researchers and the emerging researchers they supervise; trust between researchers and those who support their endeavour by participating in research, and trust between researchers and the community which values and invests in their creation and articulation of knowledge. Above all, research at Scots is driven by service to both its immediate and the broader national community which schools such as Scots were established to serve.
Research by Scots researchers and students must be carried out in accordance with The Scots College Research Code of Practice and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2007). The Scots Research Office provides resources, advice and assistance to researchers navigating the structured aspects of governance and compliance that are necessarily also part of conducting ethical research.
