Earlier this week we welcomed Ms Gunhild Roald to the College. The aim of her visit has been to meet with academic staff in key leadership positions and learn about the work of the Research Centre and the Scots/Sydney University Masters of Education (Leadership) Program.
Ms Roald is a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and visiting scholar at the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney for five months – until the end of June. In her Ph.D., she is exploring how leaders experience using coaching as a part of their leadership. Her professional background being counseling, she is particularly interested in the leader – employee relationship, and issues of power, learning and development within that relationship.
Her link at the College is Dr Tom Cerni, Head of Counselling. Another important part of her stay in Sydney has been to develop her English skills, and also extend and develop her network, perspectives and ideas in the area of leadership and coaching.
